My Guide to the Mid Season Sales!

Can you believe that year is almost half over already?! It feels like it was January just a minute ago. While it feels the year has gone too fast, there is a silver lining – it’s almost mid year sales time! This is the perfect time to update your winter wardrobe at a fraction of the cost, or the time to get your hands on the designer piece you’ve been lusting after! Here are my tips to get the most out of the mid year sales this year!

GET ALERTED

If there’s a piece from a designer you’ve had your eye on, but you’re waiting for the price to drop, now is the time to sign up for email alerts! This is especially important if there is a chance of flash sales or if the item is in large demand.

ONLY BUY WHAT YOU NEED

I mentioned this in my guide to the boxing day sales, but it bears repeating – don’t let the sales trick you into buying unnecessary pieces just because they’re marked down. If you didn’t like them when they were at full RRP, chances are you like the price better than the piece!

BE SMART ABOUT IN-STORE SALES

While it’s so much easier to armchair browse, department stores often will have larger discounts in store (not to mention a large selection!). Myer is a great example of this, hosting flash sales as in store exclusives – meaning you can pick up your favourite designers at incredibly affordable prices.

ONE PIECE IN, ONE PIECE OUT

It’s super easy to get carried away with shopping the sales, but it’s always good practice to clear room for new purchases so you don’t end up with an overflowing wardrobe! The rule I like to stick to is one piece in, one piece out, and if you know there’s a few pieces you want that are going on sale, it’s the perfect time for a wardrobe cleanse – two birds, one stone!
I know I’ll be on the look out for some new pieces, and what better time? Let me know in the comments what you’re looking for this season!
